A TFU was set up to review Navy service uniforms. This uniform is approved for E6 and below. It will replace the summer white and winter blue uniforms. This is how the female uniform should be worn.
- The uniform consists of a khaki over blouse, black slacks, and optional black skirt
- The blouse should:
- be worn outside of the pants or skirt
- fit the natural curve of the waistline
- fit comfortably and smoothly over the hips without a pull of the front V
- The bottom of the should hang about 1" above the pocket opening
- All ribbons, warfare devices, ID badges, and name tags shall be worn as on the winter blue and summer white
- Ribbons and name tag should be centered on the split from center seam 6¼" from shoulder with the ribbons on the left and name tag on the right
- Silver collar devices worn by E2-E6 should be centered on collar 1" from front and lower edges with the vertical line down the insignia bisecting the collar point
-Females may wear a white sleeveless, v neck, or crew-neck undershirt
- The slacks should fit comfortably without pulling open the side pocket or front
- The slacks should be hemmed, with 2" allowance for changes, to hang at the heal of the shoe and cover at least the 3rd eyelet in front
- The uniform is to be worn with black service shoes with optional pumps
- The unisex black Garrison cap sits square on the head 1" above the eyebrows with the point in between the eyes
- Petty officers E4-E6 wear silver eagle insignia on left side centered 1½" from bottom and 2" from the forward edge
- Eisenhower style jacket is optional and fits comfortably over shoulders and chest and zipped up ¾ of the way
- E4-E6 wear silver insignia on shoulder centered from bottom ¾" with eagle facing forward
- Those authorized to war gold insignia may do so
- Badges and name tags are not authorized to wear on jacket
- Black pointed collar jacket is not authorized to war with service uniform
